Aug Sebastiani joins Boys & Girls Club Board of Directors

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma Valley is happy to announce the addition of August “Aug” Sebastiani to the Executive Board of Directors.  “ Aug has been a driving force on our Teen Task Force over the last two years as well as consistently supporting the Club in all its initiatives. We are thrilled that he has decided to join our board and look forward to his further participation, “  Larry Krieger, President, Executive Board of Directors Boys & Girls Club.

Sebastiani was born and raised in Sonoma and graduated from Justin Siena High School in Napa.  He earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Santa Clara University, where he also studied marketing.  In 2004, he joined his father and older brother at Don Sebastiani & Sons as Managing Director of the then fledgling TOG division, where he oversaw the development of and transition towards a direct-to-trade business model and worked in market and brand management, chain management and wholesale distribution.  During his tenure as managing director, TOG grew from an annual case production of 5,000 to 110,000.  In 2010, production is again expected to double to 225,000 cases.  Sebastiani is also Mayor Pro Tem of the City of Sonoma, after having been elected to a four-year term on the City Council in 2006.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma Valley (BGCSV) have been providing Sonoma Valley youth aged 6-18 years, with critically important after school programs since 1962.  Every day, over 400 children attend one of the three Sonoma locations including the Maxwell  Clubhouse, Sassarini Elementary School and Flowery Elementary School. The Club offers many activities not otherwise available to many of our children including art classes, computer science, environmental education and athletics. Boys & Girls Club is entirely funded by local individuals, businesses and public and private grants.  We are happy provide a tour of the Club to anyone interested.
