Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma Valley gets an upgrade!
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma Valley, with the help of neighbors at Nelson Family of
Companies, is completing a series of upgrades to their computer systems and computer network. Members of the IT staff for Nelson, with most of the work completed by Systems Engineer, Junior Taylor, have had the opportunity to give back to the community by completing a brief audit and installing new equipment at the main Clubhouse in Maxwell Farms Park.
Following recommendations from Nelson IT staff, equipment was purchased that will help to improve stability and availability of computer and network resources. The improvements will also secure organizational information as well as provide enhanced protection for the children who utilize the “Intel Computer Clubhouse”, with measures such as parental controls, website blocking, antivirus, and antispyware solutions. When asked about his time at the Boys & Girls Club, Junior Taylor said “It’s been a great experience; and I feel proud to support the Boys & Girls Club in offering our technical expertise.”
This is the latest example of longstanding support that Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma Valley has received from Nelson Family of Companies. All involved with the Club are extremely grateful for their ongoing generosity and interest in the well being of the Club and its ability to provide quality after school youth development programs to 350 children every day. www.bgcvom.org
